~ INSTALL ~

This package is primarily an emoticon theme for Kopete, so the installation methods described here are targetted primarily at Kopete users. You can safely use its contents with other IM programs (like Pidgin, Live Messenger etc.) though.

Note: As of 0.4 the theme should just as well work in Pidgin/Gaim.

There are several ways of how you can install it:

1) using KNewStuff (which is built into Kopete) <<-- easiest method
 - start Kopete
 - under "Settings"->"Configure" select "Appearance" and under it the "Emoticons" tab
 - click on the "Get New Themes" button
 - in the window that pops up select from "White Emoticons that work" from the list and click "Install"

 - when a next version of the emoticon theme comes out and you open KNewStuff in Kopete you will see an icon indicating there is a new version available - just repeat the process to update it

2) by downloading by yourself (e.g. via kde-look.org) <<-- so 90's ;)
 - download the tarball
 - start Kopete
 - under "Settings"->"Configure" select "Appearance" and under it the "Emoticons" tab
 - click "Install New Theme" button
 - browse to the
 - click "OK"

 - when a next version of the emoticon theme comes out you have to remove the already existing one by selecting the theme and clicking the "Remove theme" button under the "Emoticons" tab and repeat the process

3) completely manually - for your user only <<-- suggested when Kopete is not running (e.g. via ssh session)
 - download the tarball
 - uncompress the tarball
 - copy the "White Emoticons that work" to "~/.kde/share/emoticons/"

 - when a next version of the emoticon theme comes out you have to remove the already existing one by selecting the theme and clicking the "Remove theme" button under the "Emoticons" tab (or manually removing "~/.kde/share/emoticons/White Emoticons that work") and repeat the process

4) completely manually - globaly (i.e. for all users on the system) <<-- suggested for admins that want all users to have the theme available
 - download the tarball
 - uncompress the tarball
 - copy the "White Emoticons that work" to "/usr/kde/3.5/share/emoticons/" (change "3.5" to your version)

 - when a next version of the emoticon theme comes out you have to remove the already existing one by removing "/usr/kde/3.5/share/emoticons/White Emoticons that work" and repeat the process
